New!

A word from your President: Ethan Toyama

The "Presidents Connection" is the official communication tool from the office of the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States (EANGUS) Association President Frank Lever.

Dues Renewals: In the last two months of 2008 EANGUS sent 90,000 dues renewals to the States. We send two notices of renewals. The cost to EANGUS of sending renewals in 2008 exceeded $75,000. I would ask that the States work hard to get their present members to renew their memberships. To remain strong with Congress we need strong membership numbers and an active membership to write their Congressional Representatives.

Free Memberships: USAA owed EANGUS for 5500 members who had received promotions to E5 and were eligible for one year free membership. We received the money from USAA will process these memberships as quickly as we can. I wrote a special letter apologizing for the delay and let those affected know what happened.

Legislative:

Some Major Legislative accomplishments in 2008:

---3.9% pay raise and retiree pay raise

---Increases In Montgomery GI Bill

---TRICARE rates have been lowered

I urge each of you to get your members to respond to The Call for legislative alerts and to sign up for the Minuteman updates. Go to www.eangus.org , Legislative page, click The Call, enter your zip code and a letter will appear addressed to your Congressman. Please remember to send a copy to the National Office.
